I've had to use shims in the past. Guys are giving you good advice here.

You won't. If it's that low at 25 I doubt it's going to be anywhere close at 100yds. That said, I'd only be using 25yds to get me on paper...All sorts of good advice going on. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to post. I called Talley yesterday and they essentially told me that at 25 yards nothing matters and that I should shoot at 100 instead. I can see where they're coming from but I've had to shoot animals at 25 yards and don't want to think about holding on the spine to hit vitals at that distance. He didn't really have anything else to offer. So, I went to my local gun shop today and they tried shimming it but still couldn't get it close enough. I went ahead and ordered new bases from Leupold (I already have rings) in hopes that they'll work. Stay tuned........
Never said which scope?
I had that problem once.. I had used mismatched front and rear rails, as the gun shop didn't have 2 of the same brand that had the mounting holes in the right spots. Turned out one brand sat slightly higher than the other, which set the scope at an angle. I ordered the correct matching set and all was well.
