Tried something different on my last trip. Flew into the Yukon and my buddy didn't have a wall tent. We used three large tarps on his trailer. Worked pretty well with a stove with the only downside being the lack of a pitched roof considering the amount of rain and snow we got. Still prefer my wall tent but it 100% beat sleeping in my tipi for 10 days. Having that large enclosed space was nice to dry all our gear every night.

As a flatlander new to Western Hunting (don't hate me for joining in!) this thread has really helped me conceptualize my potential deer and elk camps. Enjoyed reading through it.
 
A spot I typically backpack into for the elk opener. Sometimes there are actually elk around too lol...
