Hello guys, Congrats on the moose Bruce, Always next year Big Ben, at least you got out, I was pretty much stuck in my office looking out the window at pickups driving by with moose in the back. Hard to take. But hunting season starts this Sat so at least I can get out then. Alot of bulls were shot in the local area, I am sure the ratio bulls/cows will be way up. A friend of mine got a 20pt, 950lb bull. Between their 3 licenses they got 3 bulls by 7.20 am first morning, all within 600 yards of each other. Talk about luck. Then there were others I know with 5 licenses and only got 1 moose. Not many shot up at Vespra, Trent.
I finally put out my camera at my deer stand. The camera is a 'Stealth Cam--Digrc-X', does anybody have a preference in cameras? Trent, I like your suggestion to angle shot, I will shift mine a bit next time I go out there. Hopefully I can have some photos like yours Trent. Pretty sure I will once I start putting my apples out. Already seems to be a few resident deer. Good clover in nearby field as well. I am getting exited and kind wished I had gotten my bow training certificate and license. Talk later. Happy Hunting.

Hey Mooseheadred the bow course is this weekend on Oct 2nd at the archery centre in the lincoln industrial park if you still want to take it. they will issue a temporary card so you can hunt on oct 3rd. That is what I am up to this sunday if you want to show up they say they have lots of room. Bring the exact cash amount or stop at DNR and pay early but bring reciept of payment to the course. Just thought you may want to know this information.

Thats where I took my course as well dave , takes a better half of a day but once you are done you got it under your belt for life.I can not wait til archery season here. More then any thing I got that weekend/week off from walmart.With all the deer signs there I will not over hunt myself and be ready to pack it in when I come up there. But then again I got spoiled here with all the deer and after a week of seeing not to much I was ready to call it quits.Whats the weather like there guys , here its raining and suppose to be sunny tomorrow,will see.Well got to get ready for tonight. later all.

Thanks for the info Bruce, I have some family commitments this weekend. You will probably meet my Brother-In Law ( Danny) and his friend/business partner (David) at the course. They will be shooting identical Mathews bows. Possibility my other Brother-in Law (Walter) might be there as well. All of them are great guys, they like to enjoy and kid each other. Always trying to one-up each other, ie. size of deer, etc. You will enjoy their company. Good luck on the course. See you later.

Trent, what is planted in the field ( picture with the doe apprx 50yds), the photo is a little blurry, but it looks like oats???

todays morning walk.

I'm not sure what that is dave but if I get a chance to get into the field then I will let you know.But today I was not able to get in the field cause once again there was deer there. Total of 1 doe way off on the road and three different bucks. The first buck was a 4 point as you are about to see and the next was about a six point. then the spike horn at the last.The first buck walk so close to me I had to whistle to spook him. he was 10 yards away if that . Was heading out of the field onto the road and I was kneel down and he was heading straight on towards me.Was I could figure out how to post these as videos instead of pics. You guys would love them.So here they are .

show off hummmm me know , If I was showing off I tell you about the two doe's five kids and two bucks that was under my tree stand tonight ben oooopppppssss that slip out , it was getting close to dark and they came from all direction. Not sure if I got any film on them cause they was behind me and I was guessing with out moving. plus I had to turn off the light as well . Not going to take any chances and giving up my set up. But they were there and the doe's new something was wrong because they did alot of sniffing my sent .So if there is any thing on that video I will not show off and post it . How's that sound ben . got to go guys and watch the video I mean tv later
