Formerly deer camp, now pheasant camp for a couple more weeks. That's not apple juice on the counter. Discovered too late the hot water tank is cracked so no sewer hookup this year. Juice jugs have wider opening. Adjusting aim in the night with lights off is less of a problem. I'm in a city campground so just stepping outside to take a whiz doesn't work. Thanks to a football size prostrate it would essentially require sleeping in my clothes anyway. Bathroom remains closed off to save on furnace propane. I have had my time in a wall tent and loved it but wouldn't work well in windy eastern Montana. A couple years ago a sidewind in a 3:30 a.m. thunderstorm blew this trailer up on two wheels (it has four). Later learned a bunch of empty grain cars blew off the tracks at Big Sandy. I expected to see the Yellow Brick Road when I stepped out next morning.20211111_071327.jpg20211111_071435.jpg

Louisiana Duck Camp circa 2005. Moored about 20 miles from nearest boat ramp -- ducks in the morning, redfish & trout in the afternoon. Good times. Moved this beast 40+ winding miles thru marsh for the summer months. Pushed it like a barge w/ the bay boat at right--total trip took 2-3 days so guys took turns driving or being the lookout for crab traps, while the "satellite" boats ran about fishing.

Is that a pop out?
It’s a fold out bed. Hinged on the bottom and it folds up vertically when stowed. Inside you can see the zip up cover that holds it in place. Very fast to deploy and stow…which makes moving camp sites very easy.

Our camp is aging out but this year was another fun one. I’m only in my 30s and hope to keep the tradition going whether it’s back in Maine or closer to where I live in PA. It’s too bad we don’t see camps like these very often.

Our cabin. On 20 acres of land surrounded by millions of acres of wild.
The last picture of the cabin in winter was on Easter Sunday. We were having coffee fresh perked. And target practicing with our pistols.
With my beautiful wife and the Good Lord.

Hello all, little update here. Beautiful wife n me decided we could finish out the cabin. I picked up a couple hundred 1x6x8' knotty pine boards for the lid upstairs. Now I need to get it all topcoated with a waterborn clear semi gloss. Any suggestions would be appreciated. And the freight the out while they're still snow. We have the wood for the kitchen cabinets there. Hopefully get the sand point well pounded in. And have running potable water at the kitchen sink. We currently use an msr water purifier n pond water. It has been a good system.
Also want to sand the interior walls down a bit n topcoat with a clear semi. Again suggestions welcome.
. I found a small freezer that will be mainly used as a cooler but can freezer also. This is an important tool. Especially since I'm getting older. Kinda thinking that if I harvest a moose from now on. Instead of having to get it to the lake so hopefully the pilot has time to come get it n us. So we can get it home n processed. I could do it all there. The generator shed is insulated and I have an air conditioner to turn it into a walk in cooler. I could hang n age it. Then process n freeze it right out there. Should have the sandpoint well done so we will have potable running water at the kitchen sink for clean up. Again any suggestions are welcome.
Got myself a new 2500 kw duel fuel generator to help out too. I need to get a chair lift in for my beautiful wife. The upstairs of the cabin will be the bedrooms. I'll use a 12v winch.
Should be pretty darn good for hunting season this year. Starting with moose antler drops
Stay safe n have fun
