Must be easier to rehab the forest, if you cut it down, and haul it into the mill. Why won't Bush call it what it is, and not try and hide it as a Rehab effort????
Bush OK’s Flathead and Kootenai timber projects

KALISPELL – President Bush has approved a controversial rider attached to the Interior appropriations bill that would let specific timber projects on the Flathead and Kootenai national forests go ahead unimpeded.
The rider was added to the bill by Sen. Conrad Burns, R-Mont., as the “Flathead and Kootenai National Forest Rehabilitation Act.” The president signed the bill Monday.
Environmental groups have been critical, referring to it as the “Lawless Logging Rider.” They have said it will undermine the Clean Water Act and bypass public involvement of the National Environmental Policy Act.
