On big animals, If my first (behind the shoulder here) shot doesn't stagger them pretty good, I'll put a second one in quick as I can. If they run, I will shoot them at any angle, so I like penetrating bullets. I have used Nosler since 80 and Barnes since 1990, but I am intrigued by the North Forks, the Trophy Tipped, etc. Anyone have luck with these or similar? Give me your experience? Thanks

I'm leaning to the 210 - 225 weights of a few styles. This Spring I need to do some water jug tests.

Those federal trophy tipped or terminal ascent bullets are really good. Just hard to find and quite pricey.

I used partitions for a long time, switched over to Accubonds in my 338 Jarrett and 375 HH. Two years ago I muffed a quarter away shot at a walking bull. Took him above the right knee, breaking the leg the bullet then entered just ahead of the last rib, cut the top off the heart and exited through the brisket on the far side. 250 gr. Accubond; 2950 fps; 338. I reckon that is a pretty good bullet.
