Bozeman: is it really that bad anymore?

No! Not even close
I think the UP may be the drunkest and possibly the most obese as well. At least back in the 80s, they were really in a bad way up there. Not sure that has changed. Regardless, it is not a point I would brag about, however.

doesn't sound too bad at all.
I notice on my drives to the brewery down the road from my place that I often pass a half dozen different fit young ladies running with their dogs. It’s probably so they can sustain the “8 drinks per week” definition of heavy drinker while still maintaining smoke show status. I’m not in Froid anymore. 🙂

Sounds like the drinking is one thing that isn't going to hell in Bozeman, oh and the scenery seems to be holding up too. Those are the things that I liked most about it 45 years ago.

8 drinks a week is the official recommendation for a healthy life, I am pretty sure.

Sixty years ago during the not-so-sober sixties, college life in Bozeman involved imbibing at the Stockman, Little Johns, Barmuda Triangle and other joints much too often!

My son just moved into his small 550 square foot studio apartment last week. Rent, not including utilities, is $2100. F$@cking ridiculous.
Ouch. My Son and two buds pay 1700 in Missoula for a three bedroom. I thought that was bad. mtmuley

Is it downtown or something? Bozeman rents aren’t low, but that seems like quite the outlier to me.

It's one of the newer buildings near downtown. He looked at three different ones all in the same price range. The rent is $1900, the extra $250 is utility (excluding power/gas) fees and parking fee. I personally don't think he spent a ton of time looking for a cheaper option but at 23, he's making his own decisions. Recently got out of the marines, so the GI bill is paying tuition plus a stipend.

Prolly wanted close proximity to the Rockin R Bar.
Lol, he hardly ever drinks. His mother's kid for sure 😂. At least I can walk from the bar. He's got a good head on his shoulders and looking to get a degree in industrial engineering, so if there's any engineering firms looking for internships.....
