My free 6 months at AOL is about to expire....I like it so far.. but what do you guys /girls think....it costs $23 a month to renew[unlimited]..... what do you think about net zero and others? Any suggestions?
 
If you can do it, I would jump over to broadband...DSL or Cable.

I have never been able to get AOL to work properly...
 
If you are already paying for dial-up, give NetZero a try. I have the hi-speed and like it for only $14.99 a month. I haven't had any problems with NetZero and it helps since the max I can connect here at home is 28.8 kbs. I guess it depends on what you use the net for and how much you're willing to pay.
 
Cable is the only way to go.
I have both dsl and cable. dsl isnt bad but not near as fast as cable

I have DSL in a plan with my phone (local and unlimited LD) through Sprint. They use Earthlink as teh ISP. Not as competitive in my area in choice of providers, so they can charge what the market will support. Can't complain though, almost no down time, even during bad winter storms.

Just yesterday, I put Elon Musk's receiver on the roof of my house , which is working off of a constellation of 5,000 satellites, so that I can work from home more often.The speeds I am getting are literally 625 X that of WileyCoyote's above. We are figuratively on a technological rocketship and there is no getting off.

I used to quote Louis C.K. to my wife all the time, "Give it a second, it's going to space". Technology has made that joke obsolete.

Watch for an action alert from Starlink regarding a play by DISH Network to grab all the 12Ghz bandwidth. If they get the rule change they want from the FCC, Starlink would be seriously compromised. I wrote my US Reps and the FCC Chairman about it to give my two cents.

I really don't remember how to use the damn thing, this pc, but it's lightyears ahead of hughs now.

Night and day difference.
Funny I have heard Elon will get taken over and blah blah, too expensive, blah, the last week by those penny wise and pound foolish. They are also probably using AOL still too.

I watched the whole Terminal List season 1 in 2 days. That would take 2 years with hughs and dish. It was up and running right after the power went on and off while hughs and dish reloaded.
