You sure sound bitter and not very thankful to me...perhaps justifiably so and especially in this case. Seems how there is legal access it would be fun to frequent the area for some fishing or "bird watching" when Huey is out there.
Sweetnectar,
I live 415 miles away from Mitchell Slough, it truly has zero effect on my duck hunting. I am not bitter about anything. It does strike me as odd that Huey has a heated and carpet duck blind built right on the sloughs edge but that it is not safe to duck hunt there.
Why would you want to deny a landowner the right to feed birds in their backyard?
I would guess more people feed birds than hunt...
I cannot deny him access to his property. The problem is that his actions on his private property are denying the public a place to hunt. Perhaps you should review how you feel about privately owned cattle interfering with your hunting on public lands. That private property and it's owners impact how the public can enjoy their property. Unless you believe in denying the public's right to public property?
Anyway think about this: any landowner along any river or body of water could decide to bait their river and effectively shut off duck hunting for alot of the publicly accessible hunting. That is a very bad precedent to set IMHO.
Happy Turkey day,
