Barnes TTSX 180 grain 300 win mag for elk?

I am shooting 175s in my 300 wsm.
I would be surprised to see a ttsx with a nose bent over and failed to expand. I also don’t recover all the ttsx I shoot so hard for me to say what really happened on those cases.

Last elk I failed to recover I shot at 300 yards slowly trotting. I led her, l think too much. I shot her across the front of the chest. It was the idiot, not the bullet.
