Backyard Coyote(s)

Never had a problem with them besides them nabbing a few chickens. They’ve been really active in my area the past few weeks and getting the dogs riled up at night which gets annoying. Pretty skittish of people though because a curious coyote is a dead coyote here.

4-19 2102.JPGThis guy has been around a few times. 30 yds from our house. There is a healthy population in the area.
No kids or pets here so we enjoy the sightings....... also the hunting

Lord what a pelt on that thing

As for concern, I wouldn't have any. I don't think there's any significant chance of one trying to attack a child let alone a group of children

I see them roaming the green belt behind my back yard pretty often. I have two gsp’s that shouldn’t be at much risk, and youngest kid is 16.

Got a neighbor who swears it's a wolf. I think that is unlikely in north central Pa.
But it's a beauty ain't it. Maybe one of these nites I'll get lucky.

Buddy of mine has one of thos ring doorbells. His wife forgot about a bag of trash on the porch a couple feet off the door. They figured it was raccoons but he was able to look it upon the app, coyotes. They get pretty brave around houses at night.

Wild but not surprising. I live on a dairy, never seen one in daylight but have seen them very close to the house after dark

They light up pretty close to the house on some evenings. Kind of fun to get woken up at 2 am to the coyote version of getting Rick rolled.

I’ve heard talk that a single coyote woukd not take down a deer by itself…. hmmm. here’s stills from a video from a neighborhood friend the other night…. coyote ran off when light turned on and dog barked. Deer was seriously wounded, probably mortally since coyote had it by the neck for a awhike. Deer was there for several hours but missing by morning, yote probably came back at some point to finish the job.
