Kansas deer firearms kicks off today for 10 days, and then archery open until the end of December. Plus birds until Federally regulated seasons close, but upland goes through the end of January, so no "Offseason" for us just yet.

Another non-word "word" I will fight for is "snuck" as in, I snuck up on the herd of elk.

The only problem with "snuck" is that whenever I say it, I hear my dad's voice in the back of my mind saying "SNUCK?" You mean like sneak, snack, snuck?

We still have 4 weeks of deer season, trapping season started on the 1st. Late duck season starts the 12th and runs to end of Jan. Rabbit season doesn't end till 3/1. Hog and yote season is 24/7 365.
That's just in my home state...its only the off season if you want to be.

Anyone elk hunting the heritage season?

Leave the 12th for a Wyoming cow elk hunt. Currently working out the plans for a Feb/Mar doe/hog hunt in Tejas with a fellow hunt talker. The wife has demanded some squirrels so I need to get after that. Also sure I'll duck hunt at least once but man my waterfowl hunting has been a half hearted affair the last several years.

I still have a doe tag with four more days to fill it. That being said, based on the mule deer numbers I've seen and absolute garbage weather we've had, I think I'm eating that tag this year...

I'll try to remain more neutral on HT during the off-season this year. Worked well for me last year and kept me out of trouble. On the other hand, I've already unleashed my full power on Reddit and FB, those poor souls don't stand a chance!!! I got banned from a local highway condition Facebook page yesterday, so I've spared you guys that already!

I’ve got a fall bear tag good through the end of the month, and fall turkey tag good through January. It’s not quite over yet!

I skunked out on spring turkey & bear, and then again on blacktail, so it’s last ditch time for me to fill a tag this year.

Got some plans see how it goes. Looking like it’ll be a tough hunt on old snow trying to get close. I let some dink bulls walk Saturday hopefully I don’t regret that
