If so, are you using starting load data or going even lower? H4895 60% rule?

Do you ever loan out rifles? So you go with a magnum cartridge, even says so in it's name, then neuter it? Why not just shoot an '06/.308, ya know, logically?
Actually, no, I wasn't.Weren't you just making fun of 6.5CM shooters for being recoil averse?
That's what the conventional wisdom is, but there are times when it would be handy to have a reduced load in the book. From what i know - youll get better accuracy with a more filled case.
I've done that, but was hoping to learn from those who have experimented in the real world.Honestly just look at the min starting loads.
A 150 gr bullet and 54gr of h4895 or 64 gr of ramshot hunter should get you right around 2900fps and be a real killer with manbun type recoil.
Have you done this? I've done it with a .308 so my wife would shoot it, but I don't have 4895 on hand and don't particularly want to add yet another powder to my bench. I don't think 4895 is the only powder that is safe to load below book starting loads though. I've read you can safely do this with a number of powders, so I'm kind of wondering if that includes one of the ones I already have.60% rule with 4895
YesHave you done this?
Why is that any of your business?Do you ever loan out rifles?
Do you care to elaborate? What bullet weights/velocities did you get from your .300 WSM at 60%? I'd like to hear some real world results before I run out and buy another powder.
I was answering your question, but apparently you didn't catch that. Why is it any of your business that someone may want to load down their cartridge? Why is that any of your business?
I used it in a 30-06 at the 60% rule for starting charge. I didn’t chrono any of the loads. I was using a 130 grain TSX. My daughter killed several deer with it.Do you care to elaborate? I did it to allow my 11 year old to shoot a 30-06 without having to buy a new rifle. Why on gods green earth would you buy a rifle in one caliber and then load it to a different caliber level? I would recommend re-evaluating your selection criteria.
Why would anyone else care? Why on gods green earth would you buy a rifle in one caliber and then load it to a different caliber level? I would recommend re-evaluating your selection criteria.
Nice. I've read nothing but good things about that 130 TSX/TTSX. Might have to give it a go in that one and my .308.I used it in a 30-06 at the 60% rule for starting charge. I didn’t chrono any of the loads. I was using a 130 grain TSX. My daughter killed several deer with it.
