Anybody Upgrade Their Delorme inReach With The Garmin Offer?

Has anyone taken advantage of the https://explore.garmin.com/Promotions/Upgrade2024? offer? The big catch for me is the "your device will be permanently deactivated" clause. It seems like they are really pushing to get all the old devices off the network.

Thanks for sharing. I have the DeLorme, will consider this but 40% off doesn't seem like enough to entice me, especially if in a few years we will all just be using our phones . . .?

40% seems like a good deal to me. They could be like apple and not support the software anymore and make you get a new one.

Thanks for sharing this. From my perspective as a solo DIY hunter, my inReach certainly is a "mission critical" tool that needs to be kept current. Can't risk devices becoming obsolete even though they still work just fine.

I wasn't aware of the offer from Garmin. I'll give it a look. My Delorme has worked fine for many years. My plan was to keep the Delorme until satellite texting via a cell phone was universal and I'd ditch the Delorme. This might entice me enough to upgrade to the Garmin. Maybe Garmin sees the writing on the wall with satellite texting via cell phones and is trying to get one last boost of sales before their tech is obsolete...?
