Any Doctors here lol

Just started PT as well as beginning to get a chiropractic regime going. According to the doctors, I just need to get the inflammation under control and I should be good but I am curious about long-term repercussions/lifestyle changes. Looking into a low profile belt and I had a friend tell me they had great success with a magnetic one. No weed in this state.
I’d skip the chiropractor. Mine aggravated my problem.

Agree on sleeping with a pillow between your knees.

This has been an informative thread fo me. I returned from a snowboarding trip a few weeks ago and started experiencing hip pain that shot down the outside of my thigh shortly after returning home. Doc thought it was hip bursitis and shot me with cortisone. Fast forward 2 weeks, no improvement from the shot. I was gimping around but functional at least. I delivered some lumber to one of my crews and helped out at my daughter’s soccer practice. That night I woke up at 2 AM with the worst pain of my life shooting from my hip down through my calf/shin. It literally brought me to tears which was a first for me in the pain department. ER said my x-ray showed probable L4/L5/S1 spinal degeneration (MRI tomorrow). Meanwhile I’m bedridden. I can’t sit, stand or walk for more than 30 seconds before the level 10 pain grabs hold. It’s a scary spot to be in for a fit, healthy, 43 year old. Hopefully the MRI reveals something that can start me down a treatment path, because I’ve seen no improvement from anti-inflammatories, muscle relaxers, and bed rest ( like I even have a choice). Thanks for listening, this effing sucks especially since it’s opening weekend for turkeys here, and we are supposed to take my daughter on a Disney cruise in about 10 days.🙁
I hope everything goes well, I’m 4 months post opt. It was the best decision I could have made imo, it allows me to do what I love, hunt/fish/family. Is it a fix all surgery, No. I personally would do the surgery 10 out of 10 times as of right now. I hope you will not “have” to have it. I have had to make some life changes, I don’t see my bending/twisting/lifting to ever be the same. Good luck
Matt
