An elk hunt with scenery, no dead elk, and situational ethics

Wow, thanks for sharing this story. You did everything right, even when I am sure you had some things to say you did the right thing to walk away. Two things that went right is that you attempted to put an animal down that was wounded and that you heard the shot when you walked away knowing that the deal was done. A long trip around to get them to do what was right but you helped them towards that action. As for the garbage of that outfitter was saying, yeah he sounds like a gem. I wouldn't of known that he could not say no to you so I would of left it especially knowing that animal was taken for good. I learned something from this post, interesting read and I took a lot of man to walk away vs an altercation that probably would of just hurt you in the long run.
