I might be a little crazy! I am back in the saddle again…figuratively and literallyI am in a new area and have what I like to call a Hunt Talk 350 legend tonight. Howa rifle, Leupold scope and Hammer hand loads.

The new area is a heavy travel zone about 600-800 yards from where I saw the big buck. It was supposed to stop raining around 12:00. I am in the tree in an absolute down poor. I hope deer start moving when this passes. 20-30 minutes acording to radar.

This is one of the bigger bucks I have been chasing. This is a good sized buck for Alabama.

Public gets pressured pretty hard, especially national forest. Also keep in mind that most state WMAs have limited gun weekends-- the rest of the season they are archery only.

Buy some snake boots if you are going to hunt much south of Birmingham.

I'm not really into snakes. They make nice backing on recurves though.

I’ve seen rattlesnakes(diamondback and timber) in AL, but mostly see cottonmouths and copperheads.

That's fair. Saw a lot more moccasins where I hunted than rattlesnakes but there were enough canebrakes to keep you on your toes.

I have seen just about all of them. Until we get our cold snaps, I wear snake boots.

I’m a forester and have spent alot of time in the woods. Lol
