My 78 year old door neighbor , now dead, got scammed about 4 years ago. Someone online posing as a average looking 50 year old woman from Texas. His wife passed about 6 years ago and he pretty much was a home body. Somehow he stumbled onto this person. They worked him for about 3 months online until they asked him to send them money for a airline ticket for her to come and see him. He sent the money. She never showed up always postponing. They then tried to get him to send more money
This a guy who should have known better but just lonely , horny and hopeful.
I told him with 400,000 widows over 65 years old living within 30 miles any direction from him what is the purpose of importing from out of town to start with.
Fortunately it was only a $500-600 hit for him. After he realized he got the shaft he was too embarrassed to try and pursue any thing even if there would have been a way to.

I went and dug a house foundation for a guy in our county. After talking to him for a while I found out, he recently sold his farm and kept this pivot corner to build his house on. He is building the house for his "Ukrainian Girlfriend" to come move in with him. He has been sending her money for over a year and is now building this house for her. This guy is 71 and is going to end up losing everything.

My daughter accidentally packed her friend’s older sister’s adult-size shirt in her backpack after sleeping over at their house. Once back at home and unpacking, my daughter thought it was my wife’s shirt, and put it in my wife’s dirty laundry hamper.

My grandpa is getting up there. He used to run around on Grandma back in the day a lot. I don't really think much of him tbh. If it weren't for grandma he probably wouldn't have a pot to piss in. If she goes first I'll bet money the farm (my grandma's) and everything else will be gone due to something very similar. I can totally see it.
