Every generation worked harder than the one that followed it. This has been true my entire life according to whatever is the oldest generation of the day. Whether that is true or not may depend on which side of the generation divide you stand upon.

I'm getting really tired of the "nobody wants to work anymore". There's always been lazy phucks. More now tham previously? Quite possibly, but I know quite a few kids eager to get their hands dirty amd make some money, given the oppurtunity. Good to see.
My employees are all gen z and work their asses off and enjoy coming to work every day. Maybe they just need better bosses that can motivate, encourage them, teach them, and occasionally knock their inflated ego back to reality.

I saw something the other day that said a true measure of a company is how their employees feel on Sunday night. Ain't that the truth.

Yup. There is a kid that looks to be just out of high school putting up siding on my house at below freezing temps (Duluth MN). He is an eager beaver, and when I asked him how he liked working in the winter, he said he was just darn glad to have a job, 'cuz most construction guys were out of work this time of year. He was earing his pay. Those are my dollars, and I am really happy to see him getting them. He gives me hope.

'Don't know what it is about you tree swinger guys, but my trimmer, Lui from S. America, also swings around in big trees with a chainsaw hooked to his belt. I asked him if he was a circus acrobat or what. He said no, but he does have a trapeze hanging in his house! He is an interesting, fit, smart tree guy whose employees have impressed me in that, even with the dangerous and hard work, their attitudes are really positive as they work their tails off too.
My wife likes Lui cuz he looks and sounds just like Antonio Banderas and he gracefully moves through the trees just like Zorro!

Sometimes the trees fight back but that’s just part of the job!

Exactly why I decided it's much better and even less expensive to pay Lui and his amazing guys to cut those high branches! (Albeit I learned the hard way!)

I can honestly say I've only ever had one boss like that. What a different mindset that was loving who you were working for. Something to keep in mind, but I'm not telling you anything I don't think your not aware of.
