HAPPY THURSDAY!
Before oldest grandson Bode began school, he and I spent many days together, as both his parents pursued careers and I had recently retired. On April 1st one year I pulled a silly prank on four-year old Bode, and he asked why. I explained to him the tradition and humor in creating fun on April Fool’s Day, usually at someone else’s expense. He seemed content with my answer and we continued with the day’s activities.
Later that afternoon I was searching for a book or a tool I had misplaced and was frustrated at having no success in finding it. Bode, noting my frustration, told me he was sure he saw it upstairs on the dresser. So off I went upstairs to find my desperately needed lost article … but to no avail as I unsuccessfully scoured every square inch up there also.
Down the stairs I came, disappointed and still upset. “Just exactly where did you see that thing?” I loudly asked. Bode looked up at me with a toothless grin and giggled, “Happy Thursday, Papa!”
