A land out of time

I have never heard of it. I do have one question though is the Jonah Field the only Gas Field that was ever photographed from the air? Every time there is a discussion of CBM fields that is the only pics that ever are available.

I'm sure there are lots of photos out there. Here's one of the Roan Plateau, with development at the foot of the plateau visible. That area used to be important mule deer winter range.

Here's a couple I took this summer from the top of the Roan, looking south towards where that first picture was taken from. The quality isn't good, but you get the idea.

Here's one of the town of Parachute, with development nearby. Also important winter range.

Winter range is typically the "low country" in any particular area. In this area, winter range is much easier to access, making it the cheapest and easiest area to drill. Winter range is often on private property as well. Often these areas are fee minerals rather than federal, meaning there are far fewer stipulations to drilling.

Believe me, they are heading for summer range here too, it's just taking a little time to get the infrastructure in.

They are going to go after the gas in the Wyoming range (region G, H). There are already a few wells but they really want to expand it out. Its gonna be the next jonah field.....

Those pics are disgusting. I wish someone would take a few pics from the sky of the red desert....or anywhere else around Rock Springs.

i live in "boom town" and its full of the lowest form of man....tex-asses....

tex-ass + snow = suicide driver :D

Miller, I found all of those the other night when I did a quick search, but lost my ambition to fight the doubters that night. Thanks for posting the links.

I'd also point out that the Jonah field is one of the first fields to be extremely heavily developed, and it's a popular news story due to the serious wildlife issues. That's why you always see those pictures. There are other areas developed like that. Look for maps of active wells near Price and Vernal, UT; Rawlins and Buffalo, WY; or Rifle, CO. You'll find concentrations of wells just as high.

There are a lot more areas that they are trying to develop like that as well. Those are areas that still have a chance of not getting nuked, if anybody cares to act now.

Here are a couple example areas I found.

This website has a neat interactive map that lets you display gas well locations throughout the state of Wyoming.
