A dandy of a pointless thread

This is not quite the same, but similar. I was listening to Randy's podcast and heard him say numerous times "that someone was going to come with" and since then have heard it in different scenarios a few times. In all my years I had never heard that term used like that, it would always be said like "someone was going to come with me or us or you". Just seemed a little odd or different.

My dad and grand dad and lots of other back easters say it a ton. Most of them before part of rinella leaked down a leg. So I dont think anybody is trying to channel their inner Rinella by using the word. It's just commonly used word where I come from and not just referring to bucks.

I'll admit to using the term on occasion. Not so much referring to animals I shoot though, because I don't shoot a real dandy very often. Folks generally refer to my kills as "good eatin' size"

I can hear opie Taylor in the back of my mind now saying "gee golly, that's a dandy."

Dicky V (Vitale) basketball color man (.......and major irritant to my ears) uses the term "diaper dandy" when talking about freshman players of exceeding quality.

On the ranch, Uncle Dutch would use the terms "dude" or "dandy" interchangeably when to referring to city-kids, perhaps much in the same way that our very own Dinkshooter uses the "eastern tenderfoots" term.

There's a store in Jackson Hole called "mountain dandy", and it's built to attract just the tenderfoot you describe. The irony is not lost on me.
