Having shot most of my deer with a bow since the 1970's, I understand enough about physiology to know how easy it is to kill a deer under ideal conditions. If you have even an elementary school knowledge of physiology, you should be able to recognize the differences don’t amount to anything when it comes to making a wound channel in an animal, but do carry on.

So answer me this - what in your opinion are the advantages the 6.5 CM offers over the 7mm-08 or .260?
I don't ever go to the range with my 7mm-08 or .308 and wish I had a rifle that used a smaller case, less powder and fired bullets at a lower velocity.
That’s not funny….I’m not getting rid of mine ever and have dibs on one coming available soon. You don’t need any more

Indestructible special steel alloy cases.Stronger cases. mtmuley
Long ranger still ain't ya? mtmuleyI tried to make myself like the 6.5 cm twice. Never really did it for me. Always liked carrying the kids 7-08 to the point I enjoyed hunting more with that than a cannon. But comparing the two is silly. 7-08 w 175-195’s @ like 2000-2200 fps would be interesting for a nrl hunter gun. 500-1000 yard shots would have like 10 minutes of come back time on the scope to spot your impacts.
Reloading component availability is a big one.So answer me this - what in your opinion are the advantages the 6.5 CM offers over the 7mm-08 or .260?
You should start a hunting podcast when you retire. You would be like a grumpy Ron Spomer.I've never shot a 6.5 CM, but if that was all I had to hunt with the rest of my life, I don't think I'd give a FF. Neither would the animals I'd kill with it.
And there’s your answer.I did mention that. Marketing killed the 7mm-08 just like marketing sold the 6.5 CM to a whole bunch of people who would have been better off with the former.
Ballistically? Nothing. So answer me this - what in your opinion are the advantages the 6.5 CM offers over the 7mm-08 or .260?
