Good story to go with a dandy buck! I always want a good hunt to go with the buck. I really hope I never get out of my truck, walk 20 yards down the trail and look up and there is a giant buck standing there and I shoot it. That would be a letdown of a hunt!

Started cutting tonight as the shop isn’t heated and it’s starting to get too cold in there. Hanging weight of 146. I always forget how little meat they have compared to even a small elk. Each muscle group off the hind quarter is about one good sized roast only lol. My spike elk went 252 this year but way more meat. Elk and moose carry it with big shoulders and hind quarters. Deer are mostly rib cage and fat

Took the fiancée out today. She made it about two hours before getting cold. Maybe we will try again with more clothes. Or maybe she is destined to be a October deer hunter lol

I am sure living in SK you know all the tricks, but those heated vests.....my wife swears by hers and she hates the cold.

Baits been a little slow lately. My bets spot it’s not sending pictures. Hopefully it’s taking them at least. Now is a time of year when old school cameras are the way to go. Even tho cell cams are lots of fun they don’t like the cold

My brother flew in to hunt a couple days ago. He missed a nice buck yesterday and I shot a big 4x4 this morning. Headed back shortly to try and fill his tag!

All this snow we've gotten sucks and there's a whole lot more to come this weekend...

I carry a sleeping bag in the blind on cold days, take the boots off and get in. Nothing like a warm fart sack at -20. Maybe give that a try for her?
