2022 Sask whitetail adventures

Got a couple cell camera up last weekend. They have been having issues but a couple small bucks so far. Season ends Halloween then rifle season comes in November 15. Hoping to get some baits out this weekend but might bird hunt instead. Seems to be lots of waterfowl around and next week it’s going to get colder and most will leave. Hopefully have some big ones to chase soon. We had Avery hard winter last year so who knows what will be around this fall

There has been moose here every night almost and these elk can bugger off. They make it hard to bait as they will eat the square bale in one night

Sure is alot of moose around this spot. This weekend I’ll get bait and blinds out then we will really see what’s around

Had this doe in the area and three bucks after her. Now just need to see a big one to really raise my confidence leading into opener

Set out two blinds and baits and cameras today. Also set a camera on a green feed bale that the farmer left out. Lots of elk around the green feed bale. Hopefully some deer too and hopefully the elk stay away from my bait. On a side note it’s way too early to have to be using a sled already. Sometimes I hate winter lol

Before after and during when elk find hay. Damn things. Couldn’t find them in September when I wanted to and now that I want them to stay away they are messing up my deer plans

Those bucks have big bodies, even the little guys. Yeah, I hate it when the animals don't follow the plans

Not much for horns in this guy but big bodied. Tomorrow is the baiting and checking camera day. Season opens the 15th. Hopefully more pictures to come. Need to change the cell cam out for a normal camera as apparently it doesn’t like this bitter cold we are having.

Would be more kind towards them now if they would be here in September when I have a 338 in hand and a valid elk tag lol

Some bad camera luck on two spots as elk broke the Attena off my cell camera so no pictures since Tuesday and the elk twisted the other camera 180 degrees at the other spot. Third spot has some deer pictures I’ll post shortly
