1870’s Sharps On Mule Deer

I bought this gun several years ago and finally got it shooting. I tried all sorts of bullets and loads, finally getting one that worked well. It is a 40-90 Sharps bottleneck.

Watching this buck for a few days, I had to wait until I could get within 150 yards and shoot him…

Great job on a nice buck with a cool old rifle! I'm working on trying to fill my buck tag with my Remington Gamemaster 141 pump rifle chambered in .35 Remington.

Love it! I don't have any truly old rifles like you do, but I'm planning on trying to fill a doe tag this year with a 1949 Marlin 336 .32 Special with a peep sight.
