10 ply tires

The best solution is to get some 17 or 18 inch wheels and get the tires you want. 20s don’t make any sense on a truck, at least to me.
Back when I was shopping for a truck there a few that I immediately discounted because they had 20" wheels. They just don't look right on a truck that's actually meant to be used as a truck. Also those tires for 20" wheels are much more expensive than 17's or 18's.
And I didn't want to have to spend several thousand more $$ to replace wheels and tires after buying a $40-50K truck.

Like you said, hard to say if it would have helped, but it’s a feature I’m looking at pretty hard for my next set.
Thus far the short list is:

Cooper ST Maxx
Goodyear Duratrac RT
Mickey Thompson Baja AT
Falken Wildpeak AT4
Falken Wildpeak RT
Toyo RT Trail

Anyone have any other 3 ply sidewall recommendations?

I can’t seem to find any of the older threads covering tire threads. Looking for some new 10 ply’s. Normally go copper st maxx, but they don’t offer them in my size. Have any of you had experience with the Toyo open country at3 or cooper stronghold at? Looking at 275/60/20. Open to other options as well. Wanted to go with Falken at4 but they only offer 8 ply in that size.
I'm on my second set of Falken Wild Peaks. I got about 65k miles on the first set. Mostly pavement and lots of towing. Fantastic in the snow and off road when I've needed them.

I read these Falkens have one of the deepest tread depths on the market which results in a longer treadlife.

2500 Ram.

The Bridgestone KO2 or KO3 have the thicker sidewalls on the higher load rated tires. Not sure what load rating you are running.

I ran toyos on the 1 ton Cummins. That truck gets about 3-4k on it a year, 1/3-1/2 0f tgat on dirt roads.

The treads cupped, then started shredding at 30k, and cracked at 35k. Maybe on road they are OK, but not on dirt.

Currently running Goodyear ultraterrains on the yota and am on my 2nd replacement(e rated), for sidewall punctures. I'll go back to bfg on it.

Went with cooper stronghold at. They look better than the too at3 in person. And were $600 less too not including rebate.
