Whiskers, I was working out of town, in early January and my wife had to put down a little dog we had for about 10 years. I was working at the time she did it and I had to go outside and cry like a baby for 10 minutes. Those little guys do have a way of worming their way into your heart. I am...
Pulled the trigger on a 100 Barnes 50 Gr XLC's in .224, a pound of H322 and a Barnes loading manual. One $1 short of a $100 bucks. Havn't loaded shells in a couple of years. I think the last time I did it was .223. It's time to fire-up the Dillion and crankem out. Thanks again for everyones...
I guess my worst job was a sales tax auditor for the city of Phx. I wasn't D--- enough to take pleasure in busting the B---- of hard working people that gave little thought to how fast City sales tax could add up if not dealt with properly.
My best job is the one I have now. I work for my best...
Maineiac, What size critters have you taken with the .222/.223 Barnes. Javelina go about 35/40 pounds on average. I am looking for a load that will hit them hard and stone them in their tracks, on a well placed shot. It maybe a tall order for this light a caliber, but I just want to use the best...
I like using my .223 on Javelina, but the load and bullet I have used fragments quickly causing excessive meat damage. I am thinking I want a bullet that stays together a little better. Anyone with any suggestions for bullets and pet loads on this one? Thank you and Good Luck, JLG.
This time of year AZ seduces you. About May you start to feel like something is wrong, by August you realize the b---- pulled one over on you. Than November rolls around again and you love her all over again, truely a love/hate relationship. Good Luck, JLG.
We have a week long rifle hunt for Javelina that starts about the 20th of February. It will be my first tag chasing a four-legged critter since last Feb. Just had a fall turkey tag in 2003.
My hunting buddy has been on sick leave for almost six months and as luck would have it his return date...
Moosie, I only baited once. It was about 17 years ago here in Az. The following year AZ G & F. outlawed it and it has been a no no ever since. We did have a blast it ranks as one of my all time best hunts.
Anyway, the thing we used that the bears absolutely hammered was Wendy's cooking grease...
Arrogant Bastard ale, not because I drink beer, cause I don't. The stuff comes in a half gallon/gallon ? reuseable bottle with a cool as heck logo. I was working in Portland two years ago and our favorite "lunch" bar sold the stuff. I bought one for a momento and than ended up giving it to a...
I live in Az. 2003 was the first year I didn't draw an Az. rifle deer tag. But I play staticial odds. I put in for a Kaibab tag first (dream hunt, never drawn), the area I want to hunt second (almost a dream hunt) and my third choice is an area the traditionally has a great chance of being drawn...
I know I will go dove hunting in the afternoon tomorrow. It is too late to get up early in the morning. Just got out from under the mattress in the bathtub, now that all the gunfire has subsided from the New Years festivities. As Eddie Murphy would say in Trading Places, Merry New Year. Good...
I am a network cable installation tech. I have been doing it 8 years. My best friend is my boss. It pays the bills and I am on the right side of the political fence so I have no complaints. It is a customer driven job so there is no such thing as 8 to 5, it keeps it interesting. I am lucky to...
