Great little site. Easy to use and better than playing hide and go seek on the MTFWP website.
Not sure why you are getting hate from one particular forum user. Keep it up.
I've got both a .41 S&W and a 10 mm XDM. I prefer the auto action, it's lighter, easier to carry and I personally like to have more fire power than more energy. I've always thought if it came down to using a gun over spray I'd probably jack a round into my elk rifle instead of reach for my pistol.
Both comments are correct, despite the amount of public you see on mapping software this tag is deceptively tough to hunt, the elk hang out on private without access. I'm guessing it won't go as a second choice this year
I think it would have a greater impact on draw odds and lowering point creep. I know multiple people, most my hunting partners that started putting in for points 18-20 years ago, that simply put in for points because they can draw it someday when they are ready to do a hunt rather than next...
State land boards are appointed, not voted into office. If you get a transfer happy govenor in office, it's much easier for that transfer to happen to line their own and partners pockets with the selling / buying of those lands, voter sentiments be damned. With the apparent zero accountability...
States are required to manage their wildlife for the citizens of the State. State land boards are directed to make money off of State owned lands. The two are vastly different from a management point of view, one for the interest's of the state citizens, one for the state's pocket books. When...
We used to have what we called Meat Offs at the house. Typically it was late fall during a football game day where folks would bring whatever meat they had shot that fall and we'd BBQ the heck out of it.
The one occasion that comes to mind as "weird" was one football Saturday we were grilling...
My brother got me a .17 HMR Savage for christmas a couple years back. Still shoots straight and for the price point I love it.

Drive up to wapiti, about an 80% chance you see big herds of elk and deer on the private right out of town by the river. They tend to winter down there. Keep driving up north fork to pahaska for a decent chance at herds of big horns and random buffalo right off the highway.
Thanks @wytex for the clarification.
Statistically it seems like almost the same system as a true preference point system. Looking at Montana's draw odds, sure there are random low point holders that get a tag, but the majority of the tags go to the highest point holders anyway.
I saw that letter but it's unclear, do applicants have four years to use their points or they lose them or do their points get converted to bonus points in four years.
