In the vein of macro economics - is ammo perfectly elastic or does it violate it? The demand of a perfectly elastic good is (I assume negatively) impacted by even small changes in price. Ammo keeps going up and people just keep buying more for various reasons. Is ammo elastic or inelastic?

As a .308 owner used to being laughed at for the poor ballistics, at least I can still find ammo at "reasonable" prices. Even nosler ammo.
Shotgun ammo is another story. I pulled an old box of hevi bismuth off my shelf the other day with a sticker on it said $36.99. That same ammo is $64 now. At least BOSS is still affordable (for now).

As consumers the only thing we can do to combat inflation is to consume less and make sure that you personally represent a net loss to the company. I'm doing that in all areas of spending these days. Example the local brewery raised the price of a pint from $5 to $7 (!). So I only drink one instead of two. Net loss for the business.

My rifle likes core lokt. I’ve heard good things about the new core lokt tipped ammo.

It is in a way. It requires discipline. I drink a glass of water instead while conversing with my friends as usual. Then drink a second beer at home if I want one. A cheap one! I dunno what else to do, if you have a better strategy than just continuing to spend into oblivion I'd like to hear it. I'm convinced a lot of these businesses are just jacking up prices because they can. You have to draw the line somewhere.

Yup. I really enjoy shooting my hunting rifles. Also just makes me a better and more confident shooter. It is hard to justify going and burning through a box of cartridges right now on the range, especially the harder to find or pricey stuff.

Been burning through a lot of .22 LR and cheap .308 ammo and haven’t been shooting my .280’s or my .35 Remington much at all besides a couple shots to confirm zero here and there.

They were available the whole time if you were creative. It was available here for the most part. I shipped or loaded for quite a few members till I got burnt by one.

going through a box each of 450 Marlin and 444 was a mentally painful experience. made me forget the recoil.
