Well once you're through the first gate (submitting a questionnaire and some pics to the ether) they called me and explained the process. The next gate involved submitting hours of footage with very specific asks (starting a fire, hunting skills, bushcraft, etc). Took me a few weeks to get it...- ammo

Recommendations for a bow for my wife
Reviving this thread because I just put a deposit down on an Elite Allure. Anyone have one / like it? Hate it? I was ready to pull the trigger on the Prima but the draw weight limit is 50lbs and my bowtech was set at 51. I could easily see getting to 55/60 this season and downgrading my draw... -
Satelite cell phones?
Carrying in inreach is fine. We do. It's at the bottom of the backpack. Last year I did 2 weeks of solo hunting and I turned it on every now and again to let husband unit know I was still alive lol. That said I love having my phone on airplane mode for weeks when I'm "out". We had a buddy that...- ammo

Husband unit got his first archery elk last year (harumph) so we have plenty of meat. I'll see if I can get him roped in to a summer Game Off. Just need to taunt him enough where he loses it and wants to throw down :cool:- ammo

Arrow rest
A new bow is coming my way in a few weeks and the guys at the shop are trying to to upsell me on the Hamskea. My whisker biscuit has worked just fine - how much does fancy rest really matter? They're laughing at me putting a $20 biscuit on a $1200 bow.... -

Took a break from hunttalk for a bit. Hi all, sorry for disappearing! My dad and I would go deer hunting when I was about 9 or 10 every year after Thanksgiving in upstate NY. He told the story of when he shot a deer at my wedding (I had a .22 that I would peg squirrels with in the tree stand)...- ammo
