Arizona unit 23 rifle elk hunt
Alright, I'm throwing out a life line here. My nephew was lucky enough to draw a rifle tag for unit 23 her in AZ. I have spent a number of days up scouting for him and did find good sign, just not as fresh as I would like. Here's the kicker. He's a senior in high school and has his mind set... -

I have to imagine with all the moisture we've gotten this late summer and fall there would be some pretty good green up going on in there. I would stick to the burn if it were me. -

When to by NR Locking Tags
Ordered mine for my upcoming moose hunt and it only took a week to get to AZ. The way I look at it, its one less thing to worry about doing when I get to town.- JColony

Which projectile for elk
I've had zero issues with the Hornady 300gr SST's. All the deer I've shot have dropped in their tracks and the two elk, one dropped, the other went about 30 yards and fell over. Bottom line with smoke poles, find a bullet your gun likes and put it where it counts. I shoot a TC Blackdiamond XR...- JColony

DIY public land moose hunt for $2000 per hunter, is it possible anymore?
From my calculations, $2k would be tough. I'm actually heading up there this Sept. to hunt moose. I budgeted about $2400 for my trip and that didn't include airfare to get there (gotta love ccard points), ground transport once there, or transport to hunting grounds. Dirtclod Haven't hunted it before, just a little playing. Will be spending the summer getting the lay of the land and fall finding a big boy. -

Just found out my Nephew drew his first tag here in AZ. He got the General tag in Unit 23! Super pumped for the kid! He's been dieing to go hunting ever since I moved here 3 years ago. Can't wait to get out there and find some bulls!! -

Arizona Muzzleloader Regulations ?
Still fairly new to the AZ game, but from what I can tell there are no real regulations. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here, but as long as you stuff the bullet down the barrel you're pretty much good to go.- JColony
