Do you have any contact info for him? I've thought about trying to make a trip out with my wife after Christmas for taking the course but haven't found any dates that far in advance.
I love hunting for sharks teeth at the beach, always end up with a sunburned back from walking around hunched over all day. Awesome arrowhead collection by the way.
I have hunted with both Nockturnal and Lumenocks and I preferred the nockturnals, I liked the method of turning the nockturnals off with a switch better than lumenocks which you just pull out slightly. The nockturnals also seemed slightly more robust to me as well, no experience with the firenocks
I have yet to fire a solid copper bullet myself, but after listening to Randy's latest podcast I ordered a box of federal trophy coppers to try in my 30-06, if they are accurate enough I will be hunting with them this year.
Welcome, I'm from Brevard, up in the mountains, I hunt on the Pisgah National Forest a lot around here, went out west for my first time last year for an elk hunt in Idaho...had a blast and already have a few trips in the planning process for the future.
Lots of good advise, either will suit you fine as long as you are able to put it where it needs to be, but I would vote for the heavier arrow...I shoot FMJ's and love them
I had a very similar experience using a 120 grain SST on a whitetail, shot him, looked for hours for blood, convinced myself I had made a poor shot only to stumble on him the next day, hit exactly where I was aiming and the bullet had fragmented inside and left 3 tiny exit holes and basically...
I have been reading through this page https://www.azgfd.com/hunting/draw/process/ and I'm trying to understand how Arizona allocates their tags, I guess where I am confused is they are calling their points bonus points but they sound more like preference points, where maximum point holders have...
It's cold outside, and I like talking about guns as well so here is my ideal western hunting rifle: Winchester Model 70 Featherweight with a stainless barrel (the ones they just re-introduced at shot show last week) in 30-06...I'm a big fan of CRF rifles but to each his own...I'm just hoping I...
I went on my first elk hunting trip this past fall, went with a buddy of mine and we did a combination of car camping/spiking out for 2-4 days at a time. We would plan on camping at the truck but once we found a basin with elk in it 3 or so miles from the road we would pack in and camp closer to...
I'm looking to start using a water bladder in my new Mystery Ranch Metcalf, I own a camelback bladder but never could get over the plasticy taste. I've heard good things about the Platypus bladders but would like to hear some reviews from folks who are using them over the taste. Also, does...
I always carry a pistol, not so much from being worried about animals but I bass fish a lot and more than once have come back to a boat ramp where vehicles have broken into...never had that happen while hunting but as its always a possibility I make sure I always have one on me. I carry a S&W...
Thanks guys, we did have a blast...also forgot to mention we watched a bull moose one morning walk about a mile up an avalanche chute...It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip...but can't wait to go back, and that drive is really a grind...we made great time I thought, made a bunch of...
