Some have blemishes, but most of the ones I get they will take a new rod, cut 3 inches off, scratch the label, and cut the price dramatically! I now own about 14 St Croixs. It's an addiction.

Stop by a local train depot or a cattle feed plant. I used to get 55 gallon drums of pure cane molasses that the guys collected from runovers etc. Worked really well for me.
I'd have to say I'm also very lucky. I haven't hunted black bear in MN the last couple of years so I can save for other ventures. She told me I should do both if it made me happy. Now, I just need to find overtime or a second job under a rock.
