I think Wyodoug may be referring to this sentence, "Any big or trophy game animal taken under this regulation shall be in addition to the bag limit established by other Commission regulations." that appears in Section 7 (Bag Limits) of CHAPTER 34 (DEPREDATION PREVENTION HUNTING SEASONS)...
This is from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department Hunting License Application Information booklet:

There is a lot of information out there that documents the changes in elk behavior after wolves were established in Yellowstone.
You should be able to find this through google searches.

And, just an FYI; when preference points are averaged the average is carried to four decimal points.
So, a group with a 2.3016 average would draw before a group with a 2.3015 average.

What WyoDoug says, "If you don't draw, you get a point" is not true for Wyoming nonresident deer, elk and antelope. This changed a few years ago.
If you are eligible to get a preference point for deer, elk and antelope they now have to be purchased starting in early July each year.

So, if the Montana FW&P Director is leaving for Washington D.C. I would assume the job will be open??
Since several commenting on this thread seem to have the answers to solving the issues confronting the FW&P, how many of you are going to apply?

It would be interesting to know what percent of these people involved in these types of poaching events are ever caught. Probably not a real high percent.

I know several people on this website had some interest in the Crow Tribe's lawsuit regarding tribal hunting rights.
Here is an update on the main person involved in the proceedings:

In my 6mm Remington (very similar to a .243) I have used 42 grains of IMR4350 and 100 grain Hornady Interlock bullets (boat tail or flat base) for nearly three decades. Many many deer and antelope have succumbed to this combination.

This is the same situation for us; I use a straight and my wife an angled. My wife likes the angled because she says she does not like the wind blowing into her eyes when she uses a straight spotting scope.

Based on being able to see all four lower incisors from the right side of the critter in the bottom photo I would say all four have been replaced so that would indicate the animal is at least 4 years old.

Man, I thought I was the only one that had that thought, however, I was kinda thinking of putting the popguns in another body part of the parents!

Eurasian collared doves in my neck of the woods are usually associated with medium to large evergreen trees. And, they also seem to be ground feeders so putting up a bird feeder designed for so called "dicky birds" may not work to attract them. Just place some ground corn on the ground and if...
While you are correct that the preference points are averaged and carried to four decimals, I don't believe you have to have G&F "create a custom document". That information should be public knowledge. And, technically, a FOIA request applies to Federal documents only. For the State of...
Bob-WY:
Antelope Hunt Area 102 has always been difficult, IF you do not have access to some private land.
Where are you talking about when you say, "I think I've been in there 1 time since gun opened where I was the only truck." Where is "in there"?
Private message me if you desire.

When these "shootings" happen it takes a while to get things sorted out. Some of the details of the event are probably not being released to the public at this time for good reason.
Hopefully, what happened will get sorted out and those responsible will be charged and they will see their day...
