Yep, I didn’t even know those existed until this trip.

    MO Paddlefish Fun

I actually did save the head from the biggest fish. We hooked the biggest fish of the trip at 11:57 and our trip ended at Noon. My boys took turns cranking it in. 70” from tip of bill to tip of tail. Now I just need to find someone with beetles.

    MO Paddlefish Fun

We took our kids on a short fishing trip for spring break. I’ve always wanted to catch a paddlefish and now we have! I paid a guide service for 2 mornings of fishing and luckily the weather cooperated. My boys had a blast reeling in fish that are bigger than them!

SB 80 Eliminating NR LO & Tenant Permits

They were planning to work it last week and then tabled it, so it is likely dead for this year. Bill will technically still be alive through next year though.

One look and you say to yourself, "Oh crap"

I have endless stories about cattle. One really sticks out though. I was back on winter break during my college years and of course that meant I was now a full time cattleman for 3 weeks. I was helping my dad sort cattle like I had done hundreds of times. There was a black limousine cow that...

    Alone Australia (Netflix)

I’ve watched a few episodes. It’s not as good as the normal Alone series.

    AZ License Expiration

I usually buy mine ahead of time and set the start date of the license to the draw deadline date. I think lots of other folks do the same.

    AZ License Expiration

Same. They are unintentionally(i assume) forcing most people to apply on the last day. This should go well.

SB 80 Eliminating NR LO & Tenant Permits

SB 80 was introduced by the KS Livestock Association. We are just going to watch this one and probably submit neutral testimony. This will likely be a contentious bill if/when it gets a hearing.

    HB 2097- WIHA/Habitat Bill

HB 2097 is in committee and we are awaiting a hearing date. This bill would provide an income tax credit for landowners that have land enrolled in an access program, and enrolled in a qualified habitat program.

    Unpopular Opinion on Brisket

I will defer to your expertise. I have had much better results with high quality beef, but I also have very limited experience.

    EOY '24 - What Worked, What Didn't

Wishing I would’ve bought the CF version. I use mine a lot with my kids hunting on public. If you’re hunting private land close to the truck, the aluminum version is fine, but it’s heavy and bulky.

    Unpopular Opinion on Brisket

Meat quality is the number 1 thing that has an effect. It took me about 5 briskets to figure that out. Get the best quality beef you can find before putting all that work into cooking it.

    Long term hunt planning

Have you been hunting rifle or archery? Are you a resident? I don’t think your experience is unusual. I generally like to hunt and explore different places each year, but that certainly isn’t a great strategy for improving harvest success. If the goal is to kill one I’d say rifle season and...
