PEAX Equipment

your state [offroad retrieval]

Seems to me that if you can afford an ATV, you ought to be able to afford one of them thar' new fangled colored maps....

Since when has ignorance of the law become an excuse???????

I'd have to guess just about at the same instant your ass hits the seat of an ATV judging by the replies here...

So, from BUZZ's responsewe can garner that providing incorrect information is suitable conduct from a gubermint agency????? And here EG has been spouting the meirts of gettng the information from the agency in control of the lands (not a bad idea), but sometimes that information isn't correct.

BUZZ, in your case it seems that ignorance was probably a prerequisite of employment because you definitly missed the boat here.

Ten,

I've already provided the necessary information to any reasonable person, with more than 2 firing brain cells, to understand the law as it relates to off-road travel. Stop in to any FS, BLM, or State office near you if you're still confused.

I dont think user error of FS,BLM, or State maps is the fault of the agencies....

So you do advocate the provisioning of misleading information by gubermint agencies. That is what you have just said, is it not???

Ten,

I'm done explaining simple things to you, if you feel mislead, confused, or otherwise in the dark please consult a BLM, FS, or State office for clarification. Its not my job to explain English, ATV rules, or common sense to the public.

I understand and know the rules, always carry a pen and paper to write down plate numbers, and know how to contact the right people to explain to the fat-assed ATVers that they need to press hard so their signature gets on all five copies.

You can't say it can you, not directly anyways, but you did in a sense say it is okay for them to provide misinformation and then say it is up to the riders to find out for themselves. Kinda like giving hunters regulations from ten years ago as the current ones, and then busting them for poaching.....?????

Ten,

Its a hunters responsibility to know the current hunting regulations.

Its an ATVers responsibility to know the current off-road rules.

About as simple as that.

If a hunter or atver CHOOSES to play Rip VanWinkle and use 1960 hunting/off road rules, they deserve the ticket they get.

I've yet to be in any BLM, FS, etc. office where there wasnt mountains of information about ATV use. I've yet to walk into a Game and Fish office that didnt have a mountain of information about hunting regs.

You can come up with all the excuses in the book about why the fat-assed atv crowd breaks the law...but you want to know what the bottom line is?

They're breaking law, simple as that. They're also getting themselves regulated right out of the woods because they CHOOSE to not understand the laws.

Responsible hunters read the hunting regs and if they have questions they contact the Game and Fish for clarification. Irresponsible hunters that CHOOSE to not read the regs or seek clarification pay fines.

I think the same should apply for fat-assed ATVers.

BUZZ, have you got it yet? The maps and rules I am talking about CAME FROM THE FS OFFICE....., and you seem to advocate the misinformation program.

Do I need to type that SLOWER for YOU?

Ten,

If someone is dumb enough to trust a "free" map instead of a current travel plan...well you get what you deserve.

The FS, BLM, and State all have current travel plan maps and regulations available to the public, you just stated you got some copies for $20.

The FS is not misleading anyone, the fat-assed atv crowd is living up to their lazy reputation.

BUZZ, feel free to read slower because I am typing slower just for you. The maps came from the same office. The black and white map is/was free, and you can pick up maps for neighboring forests at the one office. The colored maps cost $7.50 each, and you have to go to each forest office to get their map. That means I can't get a colored St. Joe or Kaniksu map in Coeur d' Alene. Their offices are open only during the business day. When do most people work? When do most people recreate?

Ten,

Get some crayons out of your school box, and make your own colored maps for free....

I'm still waiting for you to tell me where it is always illegal to load dead critters on my ATV......

EG, are you also advocating the dispersal of mis/disinformation????

Ten said, "you have to go to each forest office to get their map."

Another fargin lie.

Go to any FS SO office and you can pick up maps from all over the place.

Better yet, instead of running your mouth and arguing a losing case in SI do a web search and order them online....

Always another excuse for the fatassed ATV crowd.

I just got all the maps I needed for the Clearwater Natl. Forest via a phone call and the USPS. I haven't been in ID since Feb.

Just called the FS office in coeurd' alene, I can get all the maps I needed in couer d' alene at the main office. They only had the local maps in silverton when I was there.

1-P, what did they cost mailed?

Ten,
Don't be so lazy, call the FS and ask them how much they will charge you to mail them.

They always mail me the river maps for free, but then, I am nice to them...

Ten,

The postage is free....

The map is a nominal fee, and I don't waste any time worrying about how much it will cost me...

If you can't afford a map, thank Dubya's economic policies....
