Howdy,

Planning a Wyoming antelope hunt (rifle) with my father; both non-residents with 2 preferance points each. Will be driving in from the north/north-east and curious if anyone has advice re: public land options, particularly for someone with mobility issues. Researching unit 7 but any suggestions would be much appreciated, thanks!

Without having the specific details on the mobility issues your fellow hunters will be facing, i can say that in 2017 my dad and i hunted Unit 7, only 12 days after he had a heart attack. He was on very strict doctors orders for not lifting more than 20 pounds and not walking more than a few hundred yards at a time. There is plenty of opportunity to scout public areas from the road and make a move on pronghorn that doesn't equate to more than 100 yards from the truck to set up and a 250 yard shot.

Great, thanks very much for the reply. That's not far-off from our scenario; not wheelchair bound but heart issues. Thanks again!

With 2 preference points, you could do better than unit 7 for road access and competition.
Check GoHunt or the draw odds for what they could draw

Are you putting in for the regular or special draw? With two points you might get a little better unit, accessibility wise in the special, but not much.

I started a thread looking for tips for a disabled hunter a couple months ago, it might have some info that would be helpful.
