I don’t know ‘things’ about it outside of having been there a lot, but the beer in and of itself is definitely not the best thing about the resort. Grab one while you’re there (selection will probably be small) and enjoy the place, because it’s a sweet place and at least in my family - a 5* rating on “wife’s approval” scale (many years ago we had one of our first ‘weekend away’ dates there and return regularly), but prepare to be underwhelmed by the beer quality.
Melvin is, IMO, putting out the best beer in the state for some time. Their west coast style IPAs (Hubert and 2x4) are delicious. Their Mexican lager (can’t remember the name but there’s a Bee on the label) is surprisingly good also.
