@VikingsGuy It's also interesting how rules and circumstances differ so much from state to state. For instance rule wise, Texas has a law that requires an operator to plug a fixed portion of their shut-in wells every year. This essentially keeps operators from kicking the can on crappy wells.
WY because of Coal Bed Methane, has a lot of relatively recent abandoned wells 2008 era, I doubt there are all that many (proportionally) abandoned wells in Texas, Oklahoma, North Dakota from that era.
Which kinda bleeds this conversation into the how much is your gas thread about why we don't want to just go gang busters on drilling. Basins that probability threshold is >$85 are super risky long term.
