I would shoot that thing then put on some flip flops, post a picture for everyone to see. Then have that thing mounted full body on a putting green setting.

If overpopulation is the problem, you think shooting the oldest/biggest bucks is helping solve the problem? I don't.
An another note, If the guy wanted to shoot it and it was legal, that's fine for him. Don't think I would though. IMO, that's one of the great things about hunting, to an extent you can make of it what you wish...

The Law is the absolute minimum acceptable behaviour that society had to pass a law to mandate a minimally acceptable behaviour standard.
Ethics are far higher than the minimum the law requires for everybody but The Cheese.

Yes I would take it if it had came on public hunting lands. I would be proud also and would not lie about it.

A lot of the guys that said they wouldn't shoot that buck stated it was ethics, not because they worry about what others think. Its about shooting a deer that is as tame as a texas whitetail...

Why lie about it if it was legal?. I am the first one to tell you 3 mountain ranges over is where I shot it. And give you the run around. But with a popular buck like that, why lie?..................................unless you did whack him on the private.

What is the differance between watching this big bastard go from the hills (public land) to the golf corse. (if that is the case, no one has said the full/true story for sure) and a hunter watching a buck for several months do the same thing, go from the hills to a private field (with no hunting) and when the season opens wacking it off of private. Same thing only one is more well known. LIL

wouldn't even be a question if it was legal to take him. pay for the right to take game legally and thats what I do when possible. not quite sure I understand why they lied about taking it? ashamed of being a hunter? thats a bad thing in this old mans book.
