Some of you may have already seen this on another message board. It's a pretty good one regarding wolves and elk. This will be a good test for the no name-calling agreement!

You get no no calling or controversy from me. I can see it happening. I just don't understand why he kept feeding when the wolves showed up. Make the elk move on, don't provide a bait station for the wolves.

I don't even know why he was feeding them when we have little to no snow. There is a lot of open land down there, so I don't think he really needed to feed them. We have a hell of a lot more elk up here and they are not feeding them this year because they do not need to. A lot of elk here have already left the National Elk Refuge and a lot never even went to the refuge due to lack of snow.

Ten Bears, well I didn't expect any name-calling directed towards me, just for posting that link...I just thought this is a topic that had the potential for it, eventually, but maybe not.

I just love when some of these people that want to have nature right in their back yard get to see other parts of it first hand... Like building a house in the woods and having a fire go over the top of it. It is good money for me, but very ignorant of them to bury their heads in the sand and hide from the rest of what nature has to offer...

I stand corrected on my post above. Today I saw the feed wagon out on the refuge for the first ime this year. After the snow on Sunday, there seems to be a good amopunt of elk on the refuge again. There are still a lot of elk out and about that never went to the refuge though.

"The elk just left," he said. "They just can't take that much pressure ... They've got to get out of there."

Nothing new in that statment.
As we get more wolve's,Expect that to be the same thing happening in your hunting area's.

OH yes mighty IT, they should all aspire to be as grand as you.

Then they can all bitch about how terribly stupid everyone else is.

For what? to promise not to call anyone names, belittle them by calling them liars, stupid, less than desirable? Or to flat out tell them their opinion doesn't matter, just because I say so? Or to point out their reading comprehensive skills are not up to par? I think we all can go thru just the most recent posts and find all these things, posted but most everyone, but mostly from you. If someone wants a good challenge they could go thru and compile the records and just see who has the most and the worst.

LOL Lost, you know you can get away with it if you use the slick willie approch

You just start making broader assumptions about groups of people so no one can pin you down LOL.
Its all in the game's people like to play.

quote:
Yup. Hunters can't expect to go right back to the same spot every year and have everything exactly the same. Some of them are going to have to learn to HUNT!

There is an awful lot of truth to that statement. I think for the most part I would agree with what Ithaca has said. With the elk populations in many areas a large as what they are, or were, a lot of hunters never had to really go out and hunt. Now the wolf is in the picture and there is an entirely new ball game to be played.

I also do not see where there was anything wrong with what Ithaca said.
