I am referring only to Idaho but you can refer to whatever state you choose.
I drew a bull elk permit in Idaho in 1993. Since then I have drawn 2 unlimited draw permits but I am 0 for 36 in hunts with actual odds. 0 for 11 on deer, 0 for 11 on elk, 0 for 11 on antelope, 0 for 2 on moose, and 0 for 1 on sheep. And next year I'll try again.

Been a resident for about 7 yrs now and have yet to draw anything, still put in every yr but its getting old.

Moosie,
I really need kicked in the teeth-so give up the tally.
If you kick all my teeth out maybe T-Bone can clean-up the mess with his total stats...
I'm not bitter, I just hate this state and everyone in it and all the lawmakers and the bookies at F&G and the teachers and POlice and dirt and trees and fry sauce!
But I'm not bitter.........

I dont think you have much to whine about:

Montana:
Goats applied 20 years drew one permit.
Moose applied 20 years one permit.
Sheep 26 years no permit.
Special elk 15ish years no permit.
Bison 0/7

Wyoming:
Sheep 0/8
Moose 0/8
Goat 0/8
Special deer 0/8
Special elk 0/8
Bison 0/8

Arizona:

elk 0/7
deer 1/7 (coues tag)
Sheep 0/7
Antelope 0/7

Nevada:

Sheep (all three species) 0/4

Utah:

Sheep 0/9
Deer 0/9

Colorado:

Deer 0/1
Sheep 0/3

Alaska:

New Mexico:

Elk: 0/0-June 20th=0/1 most likely...

Can't complaign about my luck. 2/3 on moose with 1/1 in Idaho. 1/8 on Idaho RM sheep. 0/2 on Idaho California Bighorn. 0/6 on sheep in Montana not counting putting for the unlimited hunt 3 times. 1/2 on MT Mountain Goat.

BHR:

That is a pretty good MT record.

As a resident in MT, I am 0/18 on moose, 0/18 on sheep and 1/11 on goats.

Since 1995 I have applied for 25-30 limited entry tags each year in places like UT, AZ, NV, NM, WY, ID, and CO. I did not draw any tags until 2003, when I drew one. In 2004, I drew 3, in 2005, I drew 3, and last year I drew 1.

Not sure what that calculates to as percentage drawn, but not real good. Around 300 apllied for since 1995, with 8 succesful tags. That is less than 3%. All the hunts were great and worth the wait and effort.

Nikster. Sitck with it, you will draw and you never know, it may come in a big bundle like Moosie got this year.

Good luck.

Montana:
0/6 Sheep
0/6 Mt. Goat
1/11 Elk
11/11 antelope

Utah:
0/14 Antelope
1/14 Deer
0/14 Moose

Wyoming:
0/3 Antelope

North Dakota:
0/3 Deer

It's both comforting and sad to see that I am not the only one with this problem...
So far this year, 0 tags / 34 apps
Last year 0 tags / 32 apps.
'05 1 tag / 31 apps.
etc..etc...
I haven't drawn a sheep tag in the 17 years that I've been putting in, but I'm thinking this will be my year for one in Montana!!! ...yeah ...right...

Won't bore you with my out of state (lack of) success but in my own state of I am 0-18 years for antelope, 0-15 years for elk, and 0-9 years for sheep. :(

Deer (draw units) are highly variable- I draw the one I hunt the most on about a 3/4 year roatation it seems like but its not as highly a sought after tag.
