Hate to break it to ya Elkchsr, but that was not leafy spurge you were seeing in the hills around Ogden. Dyer's woad possibly, cheatgrass most likely.
 
That is good, thanks, the color was wrong for cheat grass, I see a lot of that around, I will have to look up Dyer's woad to see what that looks like... I see Spurge all over town here and it has the same yellow green as I saw on the hills around where you live. Cheat grass has a different, softer texture from what I have seen and when it starts to change it turns to a redish hugh then to a different color of light tan to off white compaired to other grasses that I see. I would really like to learn more about the grasses stuff, I see a lot of different types out here and can only identify a couple. I see so many more varieties than I would have ever imagined...
