Where is college football talk ???

Well the ranked PAC 12 south champion UCLA 9-4 got thier ass handed to them by lowly unrankd Baylor 7-5. I predicted they would put 50 on them, I was wrong, only 49. Laffin.

Baylor has been on fire the last few games that they have played. Good for them, I like to see a team that is always in the cellar have a good bowl game.

Baylor is sure doing a good job of breaking the "Cellar Dweller" theme they used to live by. With a heisman in the trophy case and winning games in the Big 12 they are becoming a solid program. The main reason in Briles sticking around even though many programs would love to hire him.

You bet wyo, he has been successful on all levels.... didn't they re-incentivize his contract this year?

BTW, Griffin III would've made a great safety for the Longhorns. ;)

I believe the contract and buyout for Briles were both upped this year. Not sure on the exact #'s but from my understanding the buyout is huge. I really thought he might go back to TTech this year as that's where he went to school. http://espn.go.com/college-football...rt-briles-baylor-bears-agrees-new-deal-source

The last two heisman winners were told by Texas recruiters they would propably be defensive backs if they chose UT. Both cose to go elsewhere, Baylor and aTm, smart moves. Why Texas recruiters told them that and stuck with bouncing between Ash and McCoy is beyond me. Garrett Gilbert was smart to get out as well and head for SMU where he had a nice season this year.

IMO Texas needs to clean house from the AD to most if not all the coaches especially Brown.

I think Mack is foolhardy enough to believe his system wins....plug and play so to speak. He should have a room in house for VY to live in.

I like him...but it's time.

Vinces room should be next to Colts. Those of us OU and OSU fans sure hope he stays for a while longer.

I'd like to see Tressel coaching the horns once his NCAA coaching probation is up.

Sure bets to cover and then some ALABAMA and GEORGIA... if they don't I go broke:D

Dang, you are afraid of well coached Texas football!

Saban (cough).....there, I said it.

NHY,

I was thinking they would hire Stoops away from OU like Alabama did hiring Saban from LSU. I don't want to see Saban coaching UT. Way to good of a coach who would propably win the coference at least every other year if not more..

IMO, a good coach just made some stupid off the field decisions. I think he'd have them competing for conference and bigger championships more often than not...

Not sure if the cigars' enmity for Stoops would allow that much crow to be ingested.

...on second thought. Crow might be doable.

I was bored to death with the lack of scoring in the Rutgers V-Tech game last night but the Minnesota vs Texas Tech game was much more exciting. Talk about pulling one out at the last second. Looking forward to seeing Kingsbury lead the red raiders.

Finally today we have some games worth watching.

What is going on with the Mountaineers today? They should be whipping Syracuse to death by now.

well there are 3 bowl games that match up the big 12 and pac 12. maybe this will help decide if the pac 12 is a weak conference.

What do you think?

I think you are right on the money. So far Big 12 is 2-0 against PAC, both PAC teams were ranked higher and had better records as well. Combined with last years bowl games the Big 12 is 5-0 against the PAC.:hump:

A few pics from the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.

Was a fun game. From a UT point of view it looked lke the officiating left a little to be desired. Now if Jerry and the Boys can do the same today it will have been a good weekend.

Yet a Big 12 team just lost to a basketball school! :D

Yep, the Spartans beat the "little sisters of the poor" by 1. Both of the Big 12 vs B1G games were great. Both decided by late field goals. Now if OSU can beat Purdue.

Still cant believe how WVU played. That was embarassing.

The game I really can't wait to see is OU vs aTm.

As far as the championship, I can't make myself root for Aabama or the Irish. Don't want the SEC to win another championship and really don't like Notre Dame for what they did to OU and the Big 12 bowls in the process. Didn't you go to school there?
