Worked most of the day, headed out for an afternoon duck hunt. Got a nice pintail drake and a greenhead and called it with two hours of light left totally content. Wife and kids are at her sisters. Elk burgers and potatoes for dinner. Watch the Boise State vs Penn State game. In bed by 10:00. Probably repeat the duck hunt on New Year's Day. Pretty fantastic day.

Very good batch of venison chili with fresh sourdough for dinner tonight. Kids wouldn’t touch it. Got them to bed after letting them watch the New Year somewhere over in Europe on YouTube. Watching football and having a couple All Day IPAs.

Pan fried Mallard breasts (skin on) with a thyme coriander rub and an orange balsamic reduction, double baked potatoes and a fresh salad, a fairly spendy bottle of cab sauv followed by some brute champagne...
