What you all cookin for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

Today was a ham dinner. Tomorrow more ham again but slso grilled coho salmon and their bellies, halibut, rockfish, and cod. All caught at my cabin this year in Alaska.
Saving the squid we caught for new years eve.
No luck on the shrimping this year.

I have an immediate relative who, after they got married, invited the family over for Christmas eve dinner.
Every year we were served cold cuts along with a vegetable plate and awful soup, because it was his wife's family
tradition. After a couple of years I opted out and cooked dinner. Meat, potatoes, a couple sides, wild rice, etc.
Ended up getting the rest of the family to show up at my place.
My dear old mother, who had no filter at her later years told them, dinner sucked and she could do better at a deli.
Plus their house was always cold.
Now days I just bring the dessert.
You folks are making me hungry....

Guy I used to work with had in-laws whose idea of a dish to pass was a can of corn. Still in the can.

Sometimes no filter is worth it.

Spe
Yes, a lot, add more as it cooks cuz the beans will suck it up. I use wild turkey stock, but chicken stock or water will do. If you have a can of stewed tomatoes throw that in to.
I like easy.
Easy is easier to think about with a full gut , by the way.😉
