What about adding a brake? It would reduce a ton of recoil

In 8# rifles, online recoil data for the 6.5 PRC/143 gr is about 18 ft/#s. Same rifle weight (8#) in 270 win/140 gr, recoil is about 17 ft/#s. Don't be surprised if the 6.5 PRC recoils more than your 270.

Thanks for checking that out.
I don't know how much difference this would make but I am using 130 gr Fusion. It is just what my rifle liked so I did not look any further.
We are starting to get a little over my head.
I had a couple people tell me the 6.5 PRC would have less recoil but good ballistics.
Maybe it doesn't?
I'm fortunate enough to know some landowners in Montana and Wyoming that I have gained permission to hunt elk on.
I am a little more adventurous than the average quadriplegic and just put my head down and try my best to get it done.
The .270 really isn't bad to shoot at all and I could get by with it with no problem.
This is probably more of a want instead of a need.
Well if you want an excuse to get a new rifle, you came to the right placeYes after studying the PRC more it does not look like it is going to give me any advantage. More than likely I just wanted one deep down and was looking for an excuse to get one.
