Too many years working outside in the sun. Can't stand above 90 and humidity is brutal to me.
Heard a guy describe getting off the plane in Nam. "Like breathing yogurt". Soaking wet heat. Never went to the tropics again.

This summer has been a hot one here. 80's again today but the breeze makes it feel 70's. Shade is key. Normal high elevation NM.
90+ most of the summer and monsoons with no rain was bad. Trips to Alb. were brutal.
I retired here for the climate,altitude and humidity. 7500' NM.

I hated the early Azone heat hunting in CA. But give me some fall feelings and I'm good. A snow storm.
Give me some 40's nights and 80's with a breeze, I'm cool. 70's would be better working.
Fall in NM is great. Where I live....LOL.

Anything over 72 I don't much care for. Over 80 and I'm miserable. Give me 20 to 50 degrees and I'm a happy camper. I get less tolerant of it every year as well.

Over 95 and it starts getting hot to me, over 105 is terrible, humid or not. I pay more attention to the heat index, when it gets over 110 it’s time to flop on the couch. Down here it can be miserable hot just about any day of the year.

Well, mid-80s last weekend hunt elk was too damn hunt.....I have no problem saying that In general I find it astounding how folks "getting older" move south to hot climates. I have NEVER had a use for weather over 80 unless I was recreationally involved with water. Like many others mentioned....as I get older it gets worse. I have not found the weather cold enough to call uncle for me....love snow, and cold. Also as talked about by Cush et al......hot ain't really HOT until you are kitted and and carrying a bunch of crap with only hot water to drink. The reason I will NEVER be without an ice maker again...never.

100 degrees and high humidity, say 90% around here is about when I start bitching. When I was younger I worked outside and guess what, summer was friggin hot. Maybe that’s why I have a tolerance. That, and I how do I politely say it. Well, I am the weight I probably should be which must help at least a little.

Since I stopped working on the farm and went into a "climate" controlled aircraft hanger almost ten years ago, my heat tolerance went way down. Above 75 with the humidity we have makes me want to stay inside. But then again I don't have cold tolerance either, probably because it doesn't get super cold here and there is a constant wind. like the 40s-69.

Would it be nice to find a place like that. Drops below freezing every night would prevent mosquitoes and other bugs. Highs in mid 60’s great weather for outdoor work. Would move there in a heartbeat.

It would pretty much suck. You wouldn't have much for plant life and without that, you don't have much of anything.

I worked outdoors my entire life. No matter what the weather was doing we were out there working. Ony three times in my career did weather keep us out of the woods, and they were all wind events. Woking in a forest under large trees in 70-80 mile per hour wind is just a bit too unnerving. We rarely complained about the weather. There was nothing we could do about it so there wasn't much sense complaining about it. Just suffer through it.

But I always watch the local news on TV and the newscasters seem to complain about the weather pretty much every day. Too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry. Something is always too extreme for them. Why is it that people who are out in the weather all day tend to not complain? On the other hand, people who get up in the morning in their climate-controlled house, get in their climate-controlled car and drive to their climate-controlled place of work, then get back in their climate-controlled car and drive back to their climate-controlled house, complain incessantly about the weather. What possible difference does it make to them?

I've even noticed that now that I am retired and spend my time out of the elements when I find them uncomfortable or inconvenient, that even I complain about the weather quite regularly.
