What do beets taste like to you?

Taste like sweet dirt to me? Never cared for them much because of the musty dirt taste. Didn’t realize it was a chemoception thing.

Another vote for dirt but definitely seems to depend on how they are cooked. Much prefer them pickled though.

My Grandmother grew beets and pickled them. I ate them. I had to or else. mtmuley

There’s a genetic link to the taste of cilantro also. I love it, but it tastes like “soap” to my son.

Beets are delicious! I love them on salad with blue cheese dressing.

Fry in olive oil with a brown sugar glaze, garlic, sea salt, and a little ginger. Not much of a health food at that point, but they’re good

Beets are packed with all sorts of good for you.. I eat them at least once a week. Try to incorporate them in as many recipes as possible.

Taste like dirt to me. Good for soaking eggs with. I can give them that. I juiced up some beets once. Liquid dirt. I only did that once.

Yep. I'm a dirt and soap guy. But my wife and kids are opposite on both accounts. Go figure.

in college when i was doing some road bike racing i started making homemade beet juice, cause i read in some cycling magazine that the nitrites convert to nitric oxide and expand your blood vessels, leading to increased oxygen efficiency.

EVERYTHING came out red the next day. nearly went to the ER.

obviously, i kept making the beet juice. was delicious when combined with pineapples and carrots.

i don't really eat beets anymore
